SignatureLink has been developed to facilitate the capture of real-time signatures over the Internet for a variety
of applications such as:
1.1.1. E-Contracts

1.1.2. E-Commerce Transactions

1.1.3. E-Documents

1.1.4. The Possibilities are Unlimited:
Wherever you look, there is a need to capture signatures remotely. Now, no matter where in the World, no matter
what time, SignatureLink can capture a real-time signature. No special equipment or software is required by the
signer. They just access the web-site where the document or transaction resides and sign with their mouse.
The possibilities are endless:
-
1.1.4.1. Online Registrations
Universities, sports associations, etc. can post their sign-up and registration documents online, eliminating
the need for long lines and registration days. The documents are captured and stored electronically for
retrieval at a later time.
-
1.1.4.2. Call Center Invoices
Call centers can close the deal and send an email to the customer, who then clicks on the link and is
presented with the order for signature. The signature is captured and instant proof of purchase is
achieved.
-
1.1.4.3. Pharmacy Prescriptions
A complete system for signed online prescriptions is now a real possibility. Each step in the process from
the time the prescription is prescribed and transmitted to the pharmacy to fulfillment and receipt by the
end user can have a real-time signature attached.
-
1.1.4.4. Corporate documents
Training records, purchase requests, expense reports, anything requiring a signature can be posted online
for completion and signature by remote locations or field employees.
-
1.1.4.5. PDA Applications
If a PDA has a browser compatible interface, e.g. Internet Explorer and a pointing device, SignatureLink
applications can be adapted and applied.
-
1.1.4.6. Real Estate Contracts
Rather than drive everywhere, a real estate broker/agent can post the documents online and with an access
code provided, the customer can access the appropriate document and sign it in an instant. Required fields
can be designated, eliminating the possibility of a missed signature or initial.
-
1.1.4.7. Petitions
There are several sights that put petitions online and solicit support. However, up until now there has
never been the possibility to attach a real signature. Now there is. Using SignatureLink technology, it
is now possible to register a signature and sign a petition online saving countless hours and monetary
resources.
1.2. What is SignatureLink?
SignatureLink is a web-based technology centered on the real-time capture of electronic signatures. The capture
device (Signature Pad) is a flash-based Web form that can be embedded within a web page or document file. Upon
successful validation of a Signature Pad transaction, the signer’s signature is stored as an encrypted image and
bound to the document signed. A barcode may optionally be attached to the signature image.

1.3. SignatureLink is Easy to Use
The SignatureLink signature pad utilizes a recognizable format, the line beside the X, and has been configured so
that its function is familiar to the user:
- Move the cursor over the line next to the "X"
- Click and hold the left mouse button while signing with the mouse
- Click on the validate button to accept the signature
- A clear button is provided to start over with the signature if needed
1.4. SignatureLink is Easy to Implement
SignatureLink can be easily inserted into an existing web page; simply copy and paste the HTML source code into the
designated area(s). Effortlessly set additional tracking and custom functionality using selectable parameters.

SignatureLink is compatible with Internet Explorer and all other commonly used browsers. See section 8.1.1.1 for a
complete list of supported browsers.
1.5. SignatureLink Provides Database Query Tools
Once the signature is captured, the document and signature are encrypted and securely stored for later use.
SignatureLink offers query tools for Merchants to generate reports on Signature Pad usage and to view, print, fax or
e-mail stored signatures and agreements.

SignatureLink, Inc. is a one-source shop for authoring, storing, modifying, maintaining and authorizing online
contractual agreements.
2. Solutions and Services: Application Examples
Wherever a remote signature is needed, SignatureLink can provide a solution. The following two examples are
provided to demonstrate the implementation, application and use of SignatureLink technology in the areas of
E-Contracts and E-Commerce transactions.
2.1. E-Contracts
SignatureLink enables users to upload a document and assign an electronic signature field leveraging the proprietary
SignatureLink technology. This can lead to efficiency gains in several areas:
-
2.1.1. Improved agreement process cycle times:
The signer is provided online access to the contract document to be signed at that time. Upon completion of
the signature process and clicking the validate button, the contract is executed instantly. There is no need
to print out the original, sign it and then find a Fax machine to forward the signed document. The deal is
closed in seconds as compared to hours or days.
-
2.1.2. Document Access Efficiency
Contracts can be posted, signed, executed and retrieved 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
-
2.1.3. Remote Contributions by Multiple Parties
A contract may require multiple signatures by individuals located in different locations. SignatureLink can
be configured to take multiple signatures, at different times in different places within the document.
-
2.1.4. Online Document Management
Signed documents can now be securely stored and retrieved, eliminating the need for separate storage of
paper documents. The paperless office is now a real possibility.
2.2. E-Contracts Implementation and Application
The following example is provided to demonstrate the use of SignatureLink technology for executing an online
E-Contract:
2.2.1. The SignatureLink signature pad is added to the end of a contract document
The user enters their information in the form and signs the SignatureLink pad, just as they would a paper document,
then clicks the "Validate" button.

2.2.2. The Agreement is processed and displayed to the signer

The processed and signed agreement appears on the screen along with other vital information associated with the
contract such as:
- Signer's name
- Signer's E-Mail address
- Date and time of transaction
- IP address of signer
- Host server of origin
- Browser used
- Confirmatory barcode imbedded in signature
- Pin number or other unique identifier
- Last four of SSN
- Other custom information as needed
2.2.3. The signed agreement is encrypted and stored for easy retrieval

The signed agreement is encrypted prior to storage in the SignatureLink database and can be conveniently retrieved
by the user using a secure user name and password. The database retrieval tools are laid out in a convenient
calendar and list view allowing the client to search for the specific agreement desired.
2.2.4. The original agreement can be retrieved and displayed as signed
The signature is securely associated with and embedded within the document which cannot be edited or modified.
The document can now be printed, Fax'd or E-Mailed as needed.

2.3. E- Commerce
Providing positive proof of purchase may be paramount to the survival of an internet business. Internet fraud is at
an all-time high and fraudulent chargebacks are increasing. Up to this time credit card issuers have offered few
solutions. In some cases they have indicated to online merchants that they should change their business model to
eliminate this problem. In other cases they have been told that chargebacks need to be an accepted "cost of doing
Internet business". Neither of these is an acceptable solution and may lead to the demise of many viable online
businesses.
A signature penned by the hand of a purchaser has been accepted as a time-honored method of providing proof of
purchase. SignatureLink technology now provides the same solution for Internet businesses.
2.4. E-Commerce Implementation and Application
The following example is provided to demonstrate the use of SignatureLink technology for executing an online
E-Commerce transaction:
2.4.1. The SignatureLink signature pad is added to the end of an E-Commerce Web site shopping cart form.
The user enters their information in the form and signs the SignatureLink pad, just as they would a paper
document, then clicks the "Validate" button.

2.4.2. The purchase is processed and displayed to the signer

The processed and signed purchase agreement with terms and conditions appears on the screen along with other
vital information associated with the contract such as:
- Item number
- Item description
- Order number
- Signer's name
- Signer's E-Mail address
- Date and time of transaction
- IP address of signer
- Host server of origin
- Browser used
- Confirmatory barcode imbedded in signature
- Pin number or other unique identifier
- Last four of SSN
- Other custom information as needed
2.4.3. The signed purchase agreement is encrypted and stored for easy retrieval
The signed agreement is encrypted prior to storage in the SignatureLink database and can be conveniently
retrieved by the user using a secure user name and password. The database retrieval tools are laid out in a
convenient calendar and list view allowing the client to search for the specific agreement desired.

2.4.4. The original transaction agreement can be retrieved and displayed as signed
The signature is securely associated with and embedded within the document which cannot be edited or modified.
The document can now be printed, Faxed or E-Mailed as needed.
